Pioneer Network hosts a national conference that is a showcase for innovative thought and transformative practices in the long-term care culture change movement — as well as an opportunity to facilitate communication among people interested in propelling this important work.
Pioneer Network's 13th Annual Conference. Bellevue, Washington (near Seattle)With
Gratitude
Thank you to everyone
who attended our 13th Annual Pioneer Network Conference. We
almost hit 1200 attendees! But more important than the numbers, we had
great education sessions, wonderful networking time and we were in
community with one another.
We loved
Bellevue and the wonderful Hyatt atmosphere and staff. The
Pioneer Network Conference Staff of
Gwen
Knight, Joan Devine and
Hilda
Thompson were behind the scenes making everything work smoothly
while
Shari and
Misty were seamless in registration.

The conference opened with inspirational words of wisdom
from
Carter Catlett Williams. As
is true each year, she touched many people with her very transparent
reflections of her own past year.
READWe
are grateful to
Rob Mayer and
the
Hilda B. & Maurice L.
Rothschild Foundation for their support for the Surveyor Session
over 100 Surveyors in attendance. It was a great day due to the
organization of Carmen Bowman and we hope to continue this session at
every conference.
We would like to thank our
volunteers from Washington and Oregon
and their organizations that let them come and share their time with us.
Thank you to our lead volunteer
Lindsey
Isamailova for all her hard work.
M.O.V.E. Making Oregon Vital for
EldersAnd a standing ovation to
Providence
Mount Saint Vincent not only for their volunteers helping
throughout the conference but the wonderful site visits to their
community.
And keep standing for
Full Life
and their Site Visits and Volunteers!
We would also like to
thank all of our
Sponsors
who helped make the Conference possible.
We were honored to
have
Dave Lanphere, Sheila Harrison
and
Peggy Gramling to share
their thoughts with
Wendy Lustbader
at our Opening Ceremony.
Our
Keynote Speaker, Jim Diers,
Whose gifts are underutilized in
your Community? Instead of focusing on the few things we cannot do, what
if we focused on all the things we CAN do?
Neighbor PowerThank you
to
Anne Basting for joining us
and presenting her documentary,
The Penelope Project. It
left us with some questions
How can we raise the bar in activities in
our communities? Can we rewrite the odyssey of aging in our own lives?
Thank
you to
Dori Gillam and
Rebecca Crichton for presenting
