Re-assessing the Need for the Coalition

Key Elements of State Coalitions

Establish a schedule to regularly assess the need(s) that created the coalition; regularly assess membership composition; if there is a general membership (in addition to the Steering Committee and/or Board), regularly assess whether members' needs are being met; assess coalition effectiveness; identify barriers to the coalition's vision.

Coalition Example - "The coalition has also established regional support groups for the Western, Central, and Eastern sections of the state. These groups have been somewhat inactive. Recently, however, the coalition is working to breathe "new life" into these groups, as they represent a great opportunity for homes to access localized support and education."
